Each NeXus system is capable of providing excellent EEG signal acquisition providing you combine your NeXus 4, 10 or NeXus 32 with the correct accessories for your application.

When measuring EEG good preparation is very important for good signal quality as the basic signals are very small and can be easily contaminated with artefacts. We offers many accessories which are suitable for almost every EEG application.

For the NeXus-32 model. we have the NeXus EEG cap which is offers 21 channels of EEG designed to match the international 10-20 system with respect to electrode placement.  Using the EEG cap cuts down on the hassle of carrying out qEEG as there is no need to purchase separate electrodes - they are already built into the cap.  The cap contains 21 sintered electrodes that can be used hundreds of times.

The NeXus EEG cap is made of a stretchy, comfortable material and comes in Small, Medium and Large sizes. The sizes are based on head circumference in cm - Small is 50 to 54 cm, Medium us 54 - 58 cm and Large is 58 to 62 cm.

The rubber cups on the inside of the cap keep it in place and prevent unwanted leakage of Electrogel. All cables are carbon coated and use active noise cancellation technology to reduce artefacts to a minimum.  In order to use this cap the Adapter NeXus EEG cap is required.

EEG Minicap

For neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback) applications the NeXus Minicap should be considered. The NeXus Minicap provides a quick way to do up to 4 channels of EEG with your NeXus unit. It is made out of stretchy rubber material and comes in four sizes:

- Extra small (42-47)
- Small (47-52)
- Medium (52-57)
- Large (57-62)

The NeXus Minicap can be used with the NeXus EXG Sensor or NeXus EXG TP Sensor.

Just connect EEG Disc Electrodes or the NeXus Minicap Electrodes to the sensor and position them beneath the cap.

The electrodes can be applied with just Electrogel (applied with a Syringe and Blunt needle) or by using Nuprep and Ten20.

The Minicap does have a chin-strap which reduces the risk of electrode movement. It also supports electrode placement on the mastoids. As an alternative to mastoid reference, the EXG Sensor Earclips or Minicap Electrodes Earclips can also be used.

NeXus Microcap

The NeXus Microcap is designed to quickly enable standard Neurofeedback with NeXus. It is an excellent alternative for the NeXus Minicap, if you don't like the chinstrap. But note that the microcap does not support electrode placement on the mastoids. The NeXus Microcap is made of stretchy rubber material, which keeps the cap in place.

The NeXus Microcap can be used with the NeXus EXG Sensor or NeXus EXG TP Sensor. Just connect NeXus Minicap Electrodes or the EEG Disc Electrodes and position them beneath the cap. The NeXus Minicap Electrodes can be applied with just Electrogel (applied with a Syringe and Blunt needle) or by using Nuprep and Ten20.
We recommend using our EXG Sensor Earclips or Minicap Electrodes Earclips.

Linked Ear Cable

The EEG Linked Ear Cable has been developed for the NeXus-4 and NeXus-10 MKII to measure EEG linked ear referenced.  Linked ear is a very common way to do EEG measurement and it is used in most of the qEEG databases, like Neuroguide and SKIL.  

To make proper use of such databases, use the linked ear cable. By using one or two linked ear cables, it’s possible to do 4 channels linked ear reference (maximum of 2 channels in NeXus-4).

Connecting the Linked Ear Cable to a NeXus 10

The cable is used as an adaptor cable and is placed in-between a NeXus EXG sensor (or NeXus EXG sensor TP) and the NeXus. Connect the cable to the A&B or C&D input of the NeXus system. For 4 channels of linked ear, connect another linked ear cable to the C&D input of your NeXus and connect the two linked ear cables to each other.

This cable is only for NeXus-4/10. The NeXus-32 does not require this cable since you can choose between different montages like the linked ear montage/reference.

The Earclips EXG Sensor are used as an accessory in EEG applications. These earclips are ideal to be used with our NeXus EXG Sensor and EEG Disc Electrodes.

The Earclips for Minicap Electrodes are used as an accessory in EEG applications. These earclips are ideal to be used with the NeXus Minicap Electrodes in order to attach these electrodes to the ears.

A syringe and blunt needle are used to apply electrogel in to the NeXus EEG Cap, to the NeXus Minicap Electrodes or EEG Disc Electrodes. While applying the gel into the NeXus EEG cap, rock and rotate the syringe over the skin of the head to lower impedance/electrode offset values.

Nuprep is an abrasive gel to prepare the skin before an EEG measurement. Rub it into the skin lightly (e.g. with a cue tip), after which you can clean any excess gel with a clean gauze pad. You can then apply an electrode using a proper electrode gel (like Ten20).

The Ten20 EEG Conducting Gel is an electrode paste that is used both as adhesive and as conducting paste for EEG measurements. Apply the gel to our EEG Disc Electrodes or NeXus Minicap Electrodes. Before using this paste, we recommend using Nuprep as an abrasive skin preparation gel.
Electrodes with Ten20 electrode paste on it are cleaned with lukewarm water or Ivory.

EEG Electrogel
EEG Electrogel is used as a conducting gel for EEG caps (like the NeXus EEG Cap) or EEG electrodes. Each mount of the NeXus EEG Cap can be filled with Electrogel using a Blunt needle and Syringe. Rock and rotate the syringe over the skin to lower the impedance. The gel can also be applied to NeXus Minicap Electrodes or the EEG Disc Electrodes.
Distilled water may be added to thin as desired. Remove the gel using lukewarm water or Ivory.

Ivory EEG cleaning
Ivory is used as a detergent for cleaning the NeXus EEG cap, NeXus Minicap Electrodes or EEG Disc Electrodes. Please make sure that the cleaning method you are using does not affect the electrodes.
